“To create is to live twice”
- Albert Camus
Jérôme Masi, a graduate of the Emile Cohl School in Lyon in 2001, has carved his artistic path with determination and finesse. Now settled in Annecy, he balances his life between family joys and an artistic career that took off in 2005. Initially working as a graphic designer and then art director for various brands and agencies, Jérôme skillfully pivoted his career towards illustration in 2012, under the auspices of the Creasenso agency.
His art, serving prestigious European and international brands such as Mavic, Perrier, PBS, and Orange, manifests an unending pursuit of pure expression. In recent years, Jérôme Masi has broadened his artistic exploration by venturing onto canvas and limiting the prints of his works, making each piece a unique testament to his vision.
His artistic approach, decidedly minimalist, is a tribute to simplicity. It aims to capture the very essence of form and color, through the use of pure geometries and restrained color palettes. This method, where every detail matters, seeks to construct a visual harmony where order and meaning intertwine. Jérôme's sources of inspiration are deeply rooted in the everyday, in a careful observation of his surroundings and the fluctuations of his soul, thereby translating universal reflections and emotions into images.
In this realm where form meets substance, Jérôme Masi's art echoes contemplation, the search for balance, and the quest for meaning. His creations, both thoughtful and intuitive, offer a fresh perspective on the world around us, inviting a delicate introspection through the prism of art.
LE CARTEL collaborates for the first time with Jerome in 2024 as part of the collective textile exhibition "Paris est une fête" ("Paris is a Celebration").
