“There are flowers everywhere for anyone who wants to see them.”
—Matisse
The three periods of human existence, the three founding deities, the three primal energies. Three, a number imbued with mystery, primarily represents the union of three friends who together form 3ttman (pronounced "trois têtes man"), the pseudonym of Louis Lambert. Originating from Lille, where he was born in 1978, it is in this city that his taste for artistic expression and the surrounding environment awakened, making the streets his first workshop. Under a charged sky, the three heads emerge, vibrant with vitality and enthusiasm.
His creative quest and tireless search for light guide his personal and professional evolution. His initial training in graphic design is enriched by self-taught learning and constant evolution.
An inaugural stay in Spain plants a fertile idea in his mind: the sun, a source of life and inspiration, becomes his main creative driver. His move to Madrid leads him to the studio Noviciado 9, a bustling place where he dedicates himself to exploring and manipulating various materials in the context of public art projects.
At the heart of his experiments with cement, canvas, collage, plastic, mosaic, ceramic, felt, and many others, his artistic vocabulary and visual narratives take shape and flourish.
This unique language allows him to create mural frescoes, organize exhibitions, and lead artistic projects around the globe, integrating lessons learned from each place into his creations and artistic vision.
Today, near the powerful energy of the Teide volcano, 3ttman firmly roots himself in the ground, drawing from the earth the very essence of his inspiration. It is in this setting that his universe continues to expand boundlessly, driven by three pillars: creation, experimentation, and enjoyment, the engines of his entire work.
His work, evolving from its origins to our era, represents a tribal iconographic journey, marked by symbols and contemporary aspects of urban culture, where the experience of art in public space and workshop work intermingle.
His pieces, filled with vibrant colors, elicit in the viewer a feeling of inner warmth, inviting them to join the ritual dance alongside the man with three faces.
Like a massive wave, we navigate the flows of an artistic universe rich in elements, symbols, and stories, rooted in the terrestrial world but deeply connected to the contemporary perception of our existence.
Louis collaborates for the first time with LE CARTEL in 2024 in the context of the collective textile exhibition "Paris est une fête. (Paris is a Party)"
