x THE CARTEL
A passionate and prolific draftsman, POZLA is a versatile artist recognized both nationally and internationally. As a comic book author and a Swiss Army knife in the world of animation, he has contributed to films as varied as PERSEPOLIS, ERNEST AND CELESTINE, or LASCARS. He alternates roles as a designer, animator, storyboard artist, screenwriter, or director on titles, music videos, short films, or renowned series.
A graffiti artist since the late 90s, POZLA dots his career with both collective and solo exhibitions, and continues to paint on a large scale, subtly interacting with the urban landscape. Some of his works are monumental, his wild and colorful characters emerge from buildings, each accompanied by their story, a reflection; a moment of escape that leaves residents with a childlike smile.
In parallel, POZLA develops his universe and stories in comics, both solo and collaboratively. He transitions from trashy-loony-post-apocalyptic comedy (MONKEY BIZNESS with Eldiablo), to youth (THE MAN WHO RAN AFTER HIS LUCK), to comic reportage (WE’LL FIGURE IT OUT with Wilfrid Lupano), to autobiography (SICK BAY DIARIES). This highly personal album was awarded the Special Jury Prize at the Angoulême Festival in 2016.
His latest project, the animated series THE DOOMIES, co-created with Andres Fernandez, blends comedy, suspense, and chills for children, and is set to release on Disney + for Halloween 2024.
POZLA is currently working on a comic about an entirely different theme, couples and family, scheduled for 2025!
A loyal friend of CARTEL from the start, POZLA collaborates with the brand in 2024 for the textile exhibition "Paris est une fête" (Paris is party).
