SAMUEL ECKERT
x THE CARTEL
Samuel Eckert is an artist, illustrator, and art director whose work features a spontaneous and minimalist style, blending the absurd with a mock naïveté. He crafts a language that intertwines words and graphics to engage, charm, evoke smiles, and sometimes provoke thought. His pieces capture dreamlike scenes from everyday life, sentimental silhouettes, biting commentary, and gently whimsical dreams. Balancing artistic exploration with micro-narratives, his images resonate with pure delight, embracing joyful irony, playful nonsense, and thrilling simplicity to peel back the layers of reality.
Juggling various mediums and materials—from mural painting to skin, paper, and canvas—Eckert combines his personal projects with commissioned work, addressing themes of identity or illustration for a diverse clientele: Communication agencies, magazines, associations, small and large businesses, clothing brands, and more. He also leads workshops for children and adults, building projects that weave together micro-narration and collective work to enhance their analytical skills.
In 2024, Samuel collaborates for the first time with LE CARTEL for the collection "PARIS EST UNE FÊTE" (Paris is a Party).
