Description
A LE CARTEL x PETITOM collaboration
The MAISON DE CONVOITISES (House of lust) print is part of the PARIS EST UNE FÊTE collection.
LE CARTEL borrowed from Ernest Hemingway his famous phrase “PARIS EST UNE FÊTE” (Paris is a party) to make it the title of its new collection. This iconic cry from the heart and homage to the French capital was chosen to celebrate the arrival of the brand in France in 2024 and the inauguration of its first European store. For the occasion, 24 French and Quebec artists were carefully selected and put to the test to capture the essence of “Paris est une fête” on textile. The result is 48 t-shirts and prints with unique styles, which combine humor, social commitments and an ode to Paris.

Artist
Petitom is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Montreal. A graduate in graphic design at the University of Quebec in Montreal, he specializes in illustration and 2D animation. Thomas Bertrand held the position of artistic director at LE CARTEL from 2020 to 2024. He is also the author of several designs for the brand including the ''HORS SERIES'', a collection of humorous designs combining a minimalist drawing with a quote of author. The artistic evolution of Thomas Bertrand is distinguished by a transition from a palette of bright colors to now reduced tones, thus emphasizing the expressiveness of the drawing and the scope of the message of the illustration. It is often with the desire to provoke laughter and always with the desire to get to the essential that Thomas shapes his visual space.
